King Abdulaziz International Airport receives the first Hajj flight arriving from Bangladesh

King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) received on Saturday, the first batch of flights carrying pilgrims arriving from Bangladesh through the Hajj and Umrah Terminal Complex at KAIA.

 

The Assistant to GACA President, Mr. Sulaiman Al Bassam and the Director General of KAIA, Mr. Essam Fouad, plus a number of Governments sector officials, in addition to agencies operating at the airport received the passengers upon their arrival.

 

King Abdulaziz International Airport is witnessing the start of flights from all over the world.  All government and civil sectors working at the airport have completed the necessary preparations to serve the guests of the House of Allah from around the world.

 

His Excellency, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) adopted the operational plan for this year Hajj season, which included the necessary preparations needed for the guests of Allah.  The establishment of government agencies operating at the Hajj terminal complex in preparation of the pilgrim’s arrival and fastening the pace of ending their check-in arrival procedures.

 

It is worth mentioning that the Hajj and Umrah Terminal Complex at KAIA is characterized the preparation of all terminal for incoming flights only from the beginning of the month of Dhu al Qa’dah to the sixth of Dhul al Hijjah.  Subsequently, the terminals is completely set up for departing flights only, starting on the 14 of Dhul al Hijjah until the 15 of Muharam.  The terminal capacity at peak time is estimated at 3800 pilgrims per hour.  The terminal complex includes (14) terminal halls, (136) check-in counters, (192) immigration counters, (18) travel gates, (10) conveyor belts, two first class lounges, and (100) parking spaces for buses, as well as an aircraft parking area that can accommodate (26) aircrafts simultaneously.
