18,741 pilgrims leave the Kingdom through Prince Mohammed bin Abdul-Aziz International Airport in Madinah

The number of pilgrims departing the Kingdom through Prince Mohammed bin Abdul-Aziz International Airport in Madinah since the commencement of the departure phase in 13/12/1437 and until this past Monday has reached (18,741), departing on board (155) flights.

Prince Mohammed bin Abdul-Aziz International Airport administration and in cooperation with the airport operator and the agencies working at the airport had prepared an advance plan for departing passengers in order for them to leave in an easy and convenient matter after performing their rituals.  The operation took into account the need to for a concerted efforts and cooperation of all agencies working at the airport in order to provide better services for pilgrims and facilitate their departure procedures in a record time.

It’s worth mentioning that the new Prince Mohammed bin Abdul-Aziz International Airport in Madinah is the first airport in the Kingdom that have been constructed and operated entirely by the private sector.  This was accomplished through build-transfer-operate (BTO) method in partnership with Taiba Airport Development Company, investor and operator of Prince Mohammed bin Abdul-Aziz International Airport.

It’s also considered the first airport in the world outside of the United States which was certified by the Green Building Council in the United States of America and have met all the obligations and requirements for the (Leed Certificate).
