Civil Aviation participates in the International Travel Bourse, Berlin

The General Authority of Civil Aviation participates in the International Travel Bourse 2017 held in Berlin, Germany from March 8-12. It is the world’s largest travel trade fair in terms of number of exhibitors and visitors; more than 200 countries in the world will take part in ITB Berlin, in addition to more than 10,000 exhibiting companies specialized in the global travel and tourism industry will be gathered under one roof.
 
For his part, Mr. Bandar Al Toaimi, General Manager - Marketing at General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), explained that the Authority’s participation in ITB Berlin 2017 is the fruit of the integrative agreement signed by the Authority with the Saudi Commission for Tourism & National Heritage and this participation strengthens the distinctive relationship between the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Saudi Commission for Tourism & National Heritage.
 
“Civil aviation is an important economic sector while tourism is one of its major tributaries as it is the key driver for air traffic in the world, and the Kingdom is witnessing a strategic integration between tourism and aviation industries,” added Al Toaimi.
 
The participation of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in this global event comes as part of the Saudi pavilion organized by the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, to explore ways of cooperation and strengthen strategic relations between aviation industry stakeholders and specialists in travel industry and international tourism in general. The participation also contributes to the development and support of tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while highlighting the Authority’s efforts and strategic initiatives through which it aims to raise performance levels in the civil aviation sector.
 
Deputy Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the German Federal Republic, Adnan Bostaji, visited the Saudi pavilion ITB Berlin 2017 and learned about its future projects and investment opportunities in the privatization of airports.
 
ITB Berlin 2017 is organized on an expo space of more than 160,000 m2 and witnesses numerous scientific events and programs over three days, including 200 workshops and conferences specializing in the tourism industry offered by hundreds of international experts and specialists in the travel and tourism field.
