The General Authority of Civil Aviation is attracting international companies to develop business ventures in its airports


 
The general manager of commercial operations at the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Sakhar Almelhem confirmed that GACA is working on a project to modernize standards and for the further development of business ventures at the Kingdom’s airports.  This in cooperation with major international companies in the field in order to make a qualitative leap in the level of services, as well as quality that all airports users in the Kingdom aspires to.

Almelhem explained that General Authority of Civil Aviation has completed biddings for the creation and maintenance of private aviation terminals at King Abdul-Aziz International Airport, as well as King Khalid International and King Fahad International Airport.  This in effort to attract the leading international companies in the field of private aviation, as it will establish an administrative and commercial complexes and two hotels serving the airport and the surrounding areas.  The area will be called King Abdul-Aziz International Airport City to be one of the main commercial and entertainment attraction in the Kingdom.

He also pointed out that Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair & Co. Real Estate Company have won the bidding and received the allocated land for King Abdul-Aziz International Airport City project located south of the new terminals.

He went on to say that GACA have also completed bidding requirements to operation of the parking area in terminal 5 at King Khalid International Airport and operation and development of King Abdul-Aziz International Airport’s parking.  This is in addition to the operation and development of parking areas of 13 regional and local airports, which is split in two groups, a Northern Airports group and airports in the central area.
