The Global Ministerial Aviation Summit will be held under the auspices of the Custodial of the Two Holy Mosques


 
Under the auspices of the Custodial of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) organizes the “Global Ministerial Aviation Summit” in cooperation with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Arab Authority of Civil Aviation (ACAC), during the period from the 26-28, of Dhual Qa’dah, 1437, corresponding to the 29 to the 31st of August, 2016 at the Ritz Carlton-Hotel in Riyadh.
The summit which will be attended by more than 55 Transport Ministers from various countries around the world is considered to be the first such event organized at this global level, where the participants and guest speakers represents more than 150 countries from around the world, in addition to organizations and global civil aviation authorities.  Also in attendance are more than 128 chief delegates accredited by (IACO) and more than 15 organizations and international civil aviation authorities.
The conference will discuss, the cooperation between regional organizations and the regional offices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in addition to the financial and institutional arrangements for the implementation of regional projects.  Air traffic management, air traffic flow that are based on navigational performance and coordination between civil and military on a regional level will also be discussed.  The summit will also review the regional projects in the field of air navigation and aviation safety.
The summit main objectives is to take advantage of the best practices globally to improve cooperation the areas of safety and security.  In addition to promote regional initiatives and support the coordination with other organizations and regions as well as other international organizations.  During the summit, a common vision will be set towards safety and security of regional states affairs, and activate the use of regional resources as well as ways to create an effective means of regional cooperation.  It is expected that the summit to concentrate on sharing of security information to reduce the risks and overcome safety challenges.
More than 35 international experts will contribute during the conference from international and regional organizations and aviation authorities, they will be giving presentations and working papers for projects that are already implemented in many regions around the world.  With concentration on the positive aspects, to be used and draw upon in the Arab world.  The last days of the conference which will be attended by the Transport Ministers will be set aside for the experts and specialists to provide recommendations of those experts who participated in the first two days of the summit.  It will be in a form of initiatives that will serve civil aviation in accommodating the growing demand of air traffic in the region.  Those contributions will help to implement future projects and initiatives that will help define civil aviation’s in the Arab world.
