Education Ministry honors the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for celebrating World Arabic Language Day


 
The Ministry of Education honored GACA after its distinctive participation in the World Arabic Language Day activities, which was set by the United Nations on the 18th of December of each year.  GACA participation was showcased through the many activities and programs carried out at both airports, special awareness brochures was issued in this regards.
King Khalid International Airport celebrated the World Arabic Language Day with Arabic Calligraphy through writing the names of passengers, especially foreigners in Arabic.  This was meant to promote and strengthen the affiliation with the language and introduce foreigners to the beauty of Arabic.
The general manager of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Mr. Abdul-Aziz Abu-Harba explained that the airport interaction with the social events is one of its civic duties. The celebration of the World Arabic Language Day is an important occasion in promoting the Arabic, a language that we are extremely proud of, being the Language of the Holy Quran.  Arabic is a distinctive language worldwide and we’re honored that we belong to the great language on both Arab and Islamic world.
Abu-Harba pointed out that King Khalid International Airport and all of its sectors were keen on documenting and promoting our deep rooted belonging to this language, to the culture and identity, where we were keen on introducing foreigners to the beauty of the language.  This was done by writing the names of travelers, especially foreigners in Arabic, a step to introduce them to the beauty of the language.
King Fahad International Airport Directorate, also celebrated World Arabic Language Day under the slogan (Our Language ….. Our Entity and Arab Identity) with the participation of a number of language and social science experts.  An initiative (Talk to them in Arabic) was launched with the participation of a number of language and social science experts.  A campaign (speak to them) was launched and a number of awareness brochures were issued, in addition to the launch of interactive platforms across social media websites, to go along with World Arabic Language Day festivities.  The festivities included a segment (Talk to them in Arabic) and another segment (spread the word benefit and let other benefit from you), which include a library and an encouragement campaign to spread the culture of reading.  The festivities also included a corner for (storyteller) for kids.
For his part, Eng. Turki Aljaouni Director of King Fahad International Airport in Dammam said that the airport in an interactive entity for social issues, and act as an interface and entrance to our country, it’s therefore our duty to promote our language, and be proud of it, where it reflect our national identity, especially since it is the language of the Quran.
He went on to say that the airport directorate is continuing to organize such events, which offers the perfect picture of our country and its extraordinary international role.  It also helps the airport to stay connected with national social events and to integrate all efforts to reflect the bright image of the community at large and a country as whole.
