The General Authority of Civil Aviation Celebrate the international day for air traffic controller

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) celebrated the international day for air traffic controller, where it held celebrations on Thursday in both Jeddah in Riyadh air traffic centers, as well at the Saudi Aviation Academy.                                                                                                    
H.E. Mr. Suliman Alhamdan, the Saudi Transport Minister and Chairman of GACA expressed his thanks and appreciation to the air traffic control centers staff, stressing that this was the fruit of our investment in the human factors that are the real wealth of the nation.  H.E. went on to say that the controllers went through a rigorous training and education regiments that GACA provided for them, whether at the Saudi Aviation Academy, or through scholarship programs abroad.  Adding that GACA enabled those young controllers to comprehend all of the latest technological advances in this field.                                  
H.E. went on to say in a message sent to all the air traffic control staff: “that we have the right in this occasion to be proud of the fact that our Saudization effort in this sector have reached 100 percent, and despite the increase of air traffic that the Kingdom’s airport and airspace is witnessing, we were able to employee a large number of Saudi air traffic controllers to keep up with this constant growth and to ensure the safety and security of the Kingdom’s airspace.  And here you’re today performing your vital role efficiently and effectively”.                                                                                                                                 
For his part, the Assistant to GACA President for Communications and Marketing Mr. Bassem Alsalloum, pointed out that GACA is joining the world community in celebrating the international day for air traffic controllers on the 20th of October, in the belief of the importance and vital role of the air traffic controllers in ensuring the safety and the smooth flow of air traffic at the Kingdom’s airports and airspace and to regulate the movements of aircrafts in the Kingdom’s airspace.                                             
In the same setting Mr. Saleh Alghamdi, CEO of Air Navigation Service Company explained that Air Navigational Sector is witnessing the start of a new way of thinking where the old way of doing business has been replaced to ensure advanced performance to raise the operational efficiency and quality of services and costs, and toward the development of revenue and to make air navigational services profitable and sophisticated.
