The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is actively participating with other government agencies in the Mecca Route Initiative, which is supervised by the Ministry of Interior to facilitate the travel of pilgrims this year in five of the following countries: Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Tunisia.

His Excellency Abdulhadi Al Mansouri, GACA’s President, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that GACA has prepared a dedicated lounge to receive pilgrims coming from the beneficiary countries of the initiative at King Abdul Aziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz International Airport (PMIA) in Madinah, in addition to scheduling flights dedicated to the initiative.  Moreover, scheduling the flights time on the working days of the initiative to serve the pilgrims.

His Excellency said that the Makkah Route Initiative reflects the interest of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, (may God protect them both), with the services provided to the pilgrims and efforts to upgrade them in various fields. This generous approach supports the Kingdom's vision 2030, which includes the Mecca Route Initiative.

He added that the pilgrims arriving in the Kingdom as part of the Makkah Route Initiative through the Hajj and Umrah Terminals Complex at KAIA in Jeddah and PMIA in Medina to perform this year Hajj rituals (1440) receive the care and attention from those responsible for the initiative, where they receive the most beautiful reception. They are then driven effortlessly to their accommodations.

His Excellency confirmed the readiness of the Hajj and Umrah Terminal Complex at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Medina.  It provides for the smooth passage of pilgrims and their departure once they reach the airport’s ground to their buses in record time.
