Saudi Civil Aviation Delegation Visits Chinese COMAC for Manufacturing Aircraft, Economic Zone at Zhongshu Airport

A high-level delegation from the civil aviation sector, headed by President of the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej on Friday visited the headquarters of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) the assembly line of the C919 and ARJ21 aircraft in the city of Shanghai, and the economic zone at Zhongshu Airport in the People’s Republic of China.

 Al-Duailej and the accompanying delegation undertook a tour of the company's factories and facilities, gaining insights into the various stages of aircraft manufacturing. They were provided with an overview of the company's future plans for testing and assembly facilities, along with the latest technologies and innovations in the aviation industry.

 Additionally, they received a comprehensive briefing on COMAC's missions, delving into the intricacies of designing and developing its aircraft, and exploring the company's history since its establishment in 2008. The presentation covered the evolution of its products and outlined its tasks and responsibilities in the design, development, and production of commercial aircraft.

 During their visit, the delegation explored the economic zone at Zhengzhou Airport. Here, they were briefed on the operations of specialized companies and institutions, learning about their mechanisms for developing local manufacturing capabilities. The briefing also highlighted efforts to enhance cooperation with foreign companies, aiming to improve product quality, increase competitiveness on a global scale, and contribute to advancements in technology.

 President of the General Civil Aviation Authority, in the presence of vice presidents, CEOs, officials, and a number of experts in the field of aviation, airports, and the service sectors of the aviation system, also held a meeting with Vice Governor of Henan Province Sun Shougang and discussed a number issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen areas of cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
