The President of the Civil Aviation heads the Kingdom's delegation at the meeting of the GCC Executive Committee


Riyadh, December 20, 2018

His Excellency, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulhakim Al Tamimi, participated in the 15th meeting of the Executive Committee for civil aviation in the Gulf Corporation Council Countries on Thursday the 20th of December 2018.

 The meeting is hosted by the State of Kuwait represented by the Kuwaiti General Administration of Civil Aviation in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the GCC States at the Regency Hotel in the capital city of Kuwait.

The meeting discussed the general framework for a study to establish a Gulf Civil Aviation Authority.  Also discussed in the meeting, the mechanism for using drones and a unified program for safety assessment of foreign aircraft, plus other topic that was listed on the agenda.

The first session was proceeded by two technical meetings, the first of which was held on Tuesday the 18th of December 2018, amounting to the eleventh meeting to the Technical Committee for the Preparation of air transport of the GCC countries.  The meeting discussed the draft agreement on the organization of air transport services between the GCC States.

This was followed by a meeting that was held on Wednesday the 19th of December by the Air Navigation Commission, which dealt with studies relating to air transport in the GCC States and the coordination of methods in planning air routes and other technical matters.
