GACA President reviews the progress of work on the new Al-Jouf Airport project

His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, inspected the new Al-Jouf International Airport project that is being implemented, and was briefed on-site about the progress of the construction work in the new terminal and the latest equipment and works in progress for the project.
 
H.E. the President of GACA listened to a detailed explanation of the project and what has been achieved so far, urging everyone to the importance of accelerating the pace of work and solving the challenges facing the project.
 
Al-Duailej inspected the current airport and toured its facilities and workflow, closely inspected the services provided to travellers. He stressed the importance of improving the quality of services and enhancing everything that would provide a healthy environment at the airport and a flexible travel experience for travellers.
 
It is worth noting that the capacity of the new Al-Jouf Airport project reaches one million passengers annually, and it includes a completely new travel terminal with a total area of ​​(23,250) square meters, containing (7) travel gates and (4) boarding bridges directly connected to the terminal. The terminal includes (13) check-in counters and simultaneously has (3) self-service check-in kiosks.
 
The project is also characterized by its ability to handle two international flights and (5) domestic flights at the same time. The new airport can accommodates (6) simultaneous (C) class aircraft, or (2) synchronized (C) class aircraft with (2) class (C) aircraft, simultaneously with (2) class (E) aircrafts. This in addition to equipping the airport with the latest operating and service systems, to ensure the highest levels of comfort and safety for passengers, and to provide all necessary infrastructure facilities for the airport.
