GACA continues to open new international destinations within the Kingdom's airport development program

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) continued its practical steps within the program of developing and improving airports and increasing the number of domestic and international destinations by launching a package of development programs and initiatives in various regions around the Kingdom.  This in an effort to raise the level of competitiveness and strike a balance between supply and demand in the air transport market.

GACA started last week with Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Qassim and today continues its development program at Prince Abdulmohsen bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Yanbu.  Today was the launching of weekly flights "every Sunday" via Air Arabia Egypt. It is scheduled to arrive 10 O’clock and depart at 11 O’clock in the morning. On the 14th of November, there will be two domestic flights daily to and from Riyadh and Dammam via the carrier Adeal. The arrival of Riyadh flight will be at 9 pm and departure at 9:30 pm, while the arrival of the Dammam flight at 9:05 am and departure at 9:40 am.  In the meantime, on December the 2ed Egypt Air will operates weekly flights, on (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). It will arrive at 11:40 pm and depart at 12:40 am.

This comes as part of GACA’s programs to drive the flights growth at airport with high growth potential.  In return for the development of for low-traffic airports, in an effort to find solutions to raise the rate of growth in air and passenger traffic and thus the tendency to open more international flights.

It is worth mentioning that Kuwait Airways has recently launched direct flights between Kuwait and Qassim, starting on October 2019, at a rate of three flights a week.  Meanwhile, Air Arabia "Egypt" will join the group of foreign airlines operating from Al Gassim Airport such as, (Gulf Air, Fly Dubai, Al Arabia (Sharjah), Egypt Air, Nesma International, Nile, Kuwait Airways and Turkish Airlines).

GACA is working to develop the network of international and domestic airports, to accommodate the growing demand and increase in the number of passengers throughout the Kingdom’s airports.  Furthermore, to build a modern airport system that provides advanced modern services, in order to enhance the services provided to passengers with an emphasis on high quality, provide them with comfort and luxury at airports and accommodate the increasing demand for air traffic.  In addition to developing the work methodology for customer protection according to the latest systems and international standards.
