H.E. The President of GACA signs air transport agreements at the "ICAN" conference in Jordan

His Excellency, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulhadi Al Mansouri, signed today a set of agreements in the field of air transport services with a number of countries in their entirety aimed at regulating air services and ensuring air safety and aviation security. The agreements was signed on the sidelines of the 12th conference of the air services negotiations "ICAN" Which was held during the period of 2-6 of December at the city of Aqaba  in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
 
His Excellency concluded two bilateral agreements that bring together the governments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the governments of the Republic of Iceland and Zimbabwe in the field of air transport services. This in addition to signing two memoranda of understanding with the Republic of Mozambique and Guyana in the field of air transport services in preparation for each party to complete its regular procedures for signing the attached draft agreement.
 
Meanwhile, GACA’s delegation met with delegations of the representatives of the participating countries, it resulted in several discussions for joint cooperation in the field of air transport and keeping abreast with the developments in the air operation.
 
It is worth mentioning that the participation of GACA comes to embody its leading position in the air transport industry, and its active role in developing it at the global level.  Furthermore, it is an effort to strengthen international relations in the field of civil aviation between the Kingdom and other countries around the world. This will allow national carriers to expand its network of operation, in addition to achieving the highest levels of safety and security, keeping pace with the rapid developments in this industry.  It will further, activate the strategic plan of the authority to review and update the foundations of air transport, which are in line with the goals of the Kingdom's 2030 vision.
 
The Twelfth Conference of Air Services Negotiations "ICAN" aims to keep pace with the rapid development in the air transport industry globally, in which countries meet to hold negotiations or consultations on a bilateral or multilateral basis on air services.  This in order to provide better services to the air transport community and facilitate the establishment of links among the regulators of the systems, air operators and related service providers, and its positive benefits to accelerate negotiating mechanisms.
