The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) hosted the Aviation Security Training Working Group (WGT) of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) at its headquarters in Riyadh, from 26 to 28 January 2026.

This marks the first time the Kingdom and the Middle East region has hosted this meeting.

The discussions focused on key topics related to developing human capabilities in aviation security and addressing future challenges through advanced qualification and training programs.

This initiative highlights the Kingdom’s leading role in the civil aviation sector and its active participation in international forums. It also aims to strengthen human capital development and promote the exchange of global best practices to ensure the highest security standards. The effort reflects GACA’s commitment to supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing cooperation and coordination with international organizations and member states, building a secure and sustainable future, and reinforcing the Kingdom’s position as a global leader in the air transport industry.
