GACA organizes the "Empowerment of Women in the Civil Aviation Sector" forum

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) organized a forum on "Empowering Women in the Civil Aviation Sector", with the participation of a number of female employees of various GACA’s sectors and departments, at GACA’s headquarters in the capital city of Riyadh.

 

The organization of the forum comes as an affirmation of the importance of the role of women in the overall aviation system and a starting point towards the path of empowerment for female employees in the various sectors and departments of GACA. This in addition to the continuation of efforts to activate programs and initiatives to empower women at GACA.

 

The forum aims to highlight the importance of activating the role of women in GACA by enhancing their participation and proving their competencies in all sectors and departments throughout the authority. Furthermore, highlighting the most important achievements and qualitative initiatives in which women participated inside and outside GACA. This an effort to also enhance internal communication between GACA’s employees by highlighting their tasks and roles in the various sectors and departments of the Authority.

 

Meanwhile, the forum highlighted what GACA has done within the objectives of the sector’s strategy to enhance and raise the percentage of women’s participation in the sector, expand their work options and increase their participation. This is achieved through employment and direct recruitment of administrative, specialized and technical jobs in several fields, in addition to empowering and promoting a culture of leadership and innovation among women in all of GACA’s sectors and transforming it into a sustainable work environment in accordance with the vision of the wise leadership. This in addition to empowering women to work in the aviation sector in various fields and job levels, believing in its role in developing and strengthening the aviation industry in several areas, most notably: engineering, finance, administrative, legal, information technology, air control, aviation security and safety, in addition to economic licenses, which are in line with the objectives of the "Kingdom's Vision 2030".

 

At the conclusion of the forum’s activities, the Director General of Human Resources Department in the Shared Services Sector at GACA, Mr. Khaled Al-Asmari, honored the graduates of the Women Empowerment Diploma Program in Leadership Dialogue for the year 2021, and handed them certificates of thanks and appreciation.
