GACA signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the FAA

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides.  The President of GACA, Mr. Abdul Hakim Al Tamimi represented the Saudi side, while Carl E. Burleson, Acting Deputy Administrator signed it for the American side.
 
The memorandum of understanding focuses on training and the building of knowledge in various aviation sectors, also included are safety, security and environmental protection in air transport.
 
This in addition to building civil aviation operation and keeping abreast with the latest technologies and the best practices in various civil aviation sectors.
 
The memorandum deals with the issue of privatization, revenue sharing and project financing units, in addition to the establishment and development of civil aviation research centers.
 
The MoU reflects on the importance of cooperation between the two sides in the field of civil aviation and the desire to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two parties based on mutual benefit and respect, all in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in both countries.
 
The cooperation between the two sides will be based on exchange of visits between experts on both parties, the exchange of scientific and technical information between the two sides, the training of individuals and the development of their capacities through participating and implementing relevant projects.
