GACA hosts the 2nd Marketeers Meeting

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held the Second Marketeers Meeting at its headquarters in Riyadh.

The meeting was hosted by Basem Al-Salloum, Assistant to the President for Marketing and Communications, and Dr. Fahd Al-Jarbou, VP Marketing & Product Development, Saudi Airlines, and moderated by Dr. Obaid Al-Abdali, the Shoura Council Member andmarketing expert.

After having welcomed the attendees, Al-Salloum reviewed GACA’s corporate communications and marketing activities, the services it provides to passengers through social interaction at airports, such as celebrations of the Saudi National Day and other national events of GCC states. He also highlighted GACA’s internal communications with its staff at its new headquarters in Riyadh, provision of services to them, and creation of a friendly, productive, and healthy work environment.

Dr. Al-Jarbou discussed Saudia’s history with marketing and showcased the national carrier’s goals and programs that target travelers to provide them with the best possible services, and which are communicated to them through various means, particularly social media.

He was upbeat on the growth of the Kingdom’s aviation sector and the development of the infrastructures of national airports, mentioning the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

Dr. Abdali thanked GACA for hosting the Marketeers Meeting, and praised the impressive development at airports, embodied by improved traveler experiences. He reiterated that aviation is one sector that is rife with opportunities for the marketing industry, with competition on the rise among national and international airlines, both in the Kingdom and abroad.

Recently, GACA had launched a forum for members of the media and op-ed writers to bolster ties with the media and respond to their queries more promptly and directly.
