The General Authority of Civil Aviation holds a meeting entitled “Toward friendly airports for people with high motivation”


Riyadh March 28, 2018

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held an open meeting entitled “Toward friendly airports for people with high motivation” in the presence of His Excellency the president of GACA, Mr. Abdul Hakim Al Tamimi, special needs individuals, officials from aviation and the air transport industry, airliners, ground service companies and Government organization operating at the airports.

 

In a speech given by H.E Mr. Al Tamimi, he stressed that the services rendered to this precious group of people is a priority in civil aviation.  A committee was established at GACA to develop the services tendered to the highly motivated group of people at the Kingdom’s airports.  He called on all concerned governmental authorities, as well as the national air carriers to nominate members in this committee and work on achieving results as one team.

 

Mr. Al Tamimi added, “We have a problem in the infrastructure at some of our airports, and God willing, we are working to improve those conditions to be friendlier to their needs, and starting next week, the committee and its workshop in coordination with the government and security agencies at the airports will begin its work”.

 

For their part, a group of highly motivated individuals reviewed the problems and difficulties facing them at the airports, citing their travel itinerary that begins with their booking and end in their departure for their intended destinations. They cited the proposed solutions to overcome some of these difficulties and the most successful experience they had up-to-date. 

 

For their part, the CEO of the Saudi Ground Service Company, Mr. Omar Najar, along with the acting Deputy CEO of Riyadh Airports Company, stressed their interest in activating those solutions in accordance to the most successful international practices.

On the same note, Mr. Rashid Alajami Deputy President for Ground Operation at Saudia Airlines, and Mr. Ibrahim Salmin, Chief International Airports manager at NAS Air, confirmed that the two companies will update their reservation service at their respective sites to serve those group of people better, taking into account all the feedbacks given at the meeting to improve the service.

 

During the meeting, they discussed the services provided at the airports to the highly motivated individuals, and ways to upgrade the level of service to the required level, all in an effort to make the airport user friendly to those highly valued group of people.

 

It is worth mentioning that GACA has previously set up a committee to study the needs of the highly motivated group of people at the Kingdom’s airports, in order to improve the services provided to this coveted group of people and to secure all their needs throughout the airport.
