Transport Minister and GACA President visit ICAO officials

The Saudi Minister of Transport, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Dr. Nabeel Al Amoudi, accompanied by the President of GACA, Mr. Abdulhakim Al Tamimi met on Tuesday the 26^th of June, 2018 with the President of the ICAO Council, Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard ALIU.
 
In his visit, the Minister of Transport affirmed the Kingdom support for all the strategic objectives of the ICAO and reviewed ways of cooperation between the Organization and the Kingdom.  During the meeting, it was agreed upon for the Kingdom to host a World Conference for the Middle East and Arab States on the safety and security of civil aviation with the participation of ICAO in the developmental and regional plans and for the region states to uphold the Organization International Standards.
 
They also paid a visit to the ICAO Secretary General, Dr. Fang Liu, who discussed ways of cooperation between the Organization and Kingdom in the field of training and updating the efficiency communication between the Kingdom and Regional Office in Cairo.
 
The Secretary General commended the Kingdom’s pioneering role in the Middle East and the Arab world and thanked the Kingdom for its support in raising the level of aviation safety and civil aviation security at the regional and global levels.  The Secretary referred to the Kingdom efforts in supporting ICAO counterterrorism plans and its support for the Global Aviation Security Plan.
