GACA participate in the Global Airport Development Conference (GAD World)

The President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulhakim Al Tamimi, will head the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the Global Airport Development Conference (GAD World), which will take place from the 26-29 of November 2018 in Hamburg, Germany. The conference is considered one of the biggest international platform for in the field of investment and airport privatization.  The conference will include more than 500 members from various airport development sectors from more than 50 countries around the world, including airport operators, investors, airliners, government and international specialized organizations and financiers.

 

GACA aims through its participation to attract international operators, investors and financiers for its future projects according to its strategic plan, which is in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.  GACA’s goals and objectives correspond with the Kingdom’s Vision that aim to develop the national economy and the move forward toward privatization and a strategic partnership with the private sector.  This trend will contribute to improving the services provided to the public. This in addition to upgrading the civil aviation industry in the Kingdom, and reach the highest level of international standards.

 

His Excellency, Mr. Abduhakim Al Tamimi, President of GACA, will participate as a keynote speaker in a panel discussion entitled “Partnership with the Private Sector”, along a number of speakers, which includes, Mr. Colm Moran, CEO of DAA International, Mr. Lee Lawrence, Chief investment officer at Tarabat Investment and Development, as well as, Mr. Kashef Khalid, Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East at the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

GACA will seek to review the investment opportunities and the strategic plan for airport privatization in the Kingdom.  The session will focus on answering many questions of those who are interested in this subject.  This is an effort by GACA to attract the best experience from operators, investors, and global financiers of GACA projects.  This in addition to benefiting from the experience of previous projects in other countries from around the world.  GACA also intends through this participation to promote the privatization effort of the new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and other GACA’s projects.

 

It is worth mentioning that (GAD World), is one of the most important driving forces in the global aviation community that promotes the development of airports by sharing others experiences , building partnership, as well as, building sound bridges of communication between airport operators and investors. Hence, the commitment of leading airport operators and industry organizers who are keen to attend this conference.   Also participating in the conference are a number of executives and CEOs of the world’s largest operating, financial and advisory companies.  The world leading airport operators such as the French company ADP-I, also in presence is a French company named VINCI, the Spanish company FERROVAL, the Malaysian Airports Company, the German Airport Company, the Turkish company TAV, an American company ASOI.  This in addition to the participation of the most important investors and financiers, leading the way is an international company named AVI Alliance, a French company NATIXIS, HSBC Bank.  Also in attendance, the leading advisory firms, such as the IFC, which the advisory arm of the World Bank and an American advisory firm named Jacobs.
