GACA Board Amends New Customer Protection Code, KFIA Incorporation

The Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) approved the incorporation of Dammam’s King Fahd International Airport and a new customer protection code.
 
The moves came at the Board’s recent 20th meeting at GACA’s headquarters in Riyadh, headed by Minister of Transportation and GACA President Sulaiman Al-Hamdan, in which they discussed a number of issues that concern the Authority and the Kingdom’s aviation industry.
 
The Board thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and His Royal Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, for the Council of Ministers’ approval of the executive program to privatize GACA’s revenue-generating units and partnerships with the private sector. The Board reviewed the progress made in the privatization program and signed off on the financial statements of the Navigation sector for 2015 and King Khalid International Airport’s financial statements for 2013 and 2014.
 
The Board also reviewed the Authority’s strategic plan and was shown a presentation on its 2017 budget, as well as a report on major development projects at domestic and international airports.
The meeting was attended by all members of the Board: Saleh Al-Muhanna, Deputy to the Minister of Finance for Financial and Accounting Affairs; Engineer Hazloul Al-Hazloul, Deputy to the Minister of Transportation for Strategic Planning, Engineer Abdullah Al-Jarbou, Planning Advisor to the Minister of Economy and Planning; Majed Al-Bawardi, Advisor to the Minister of Commerce and Investment; and Board members Engineer Andulrahman Al-Rouwaiti and Engineer Abdullah Al-Zamil.
