A training program for 5770 employees on dealing with tourists at the Kingdom’s airports

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) represented by the General Administration for Quality and Customer Protection department organized a set of training courses at many of the Kingdom’s international and local airports.  The aim is to develop the skills needed in dealing with tourists, and on the job training of employees with the tourists.  It was an effort to educate the airport employees about the importance of the professional methods of dealing with tourists, by training them in the necessary skills and behavior; this was accomplished with the cooperation of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage.
 
The number of training courses that were held within the training program was 122 courses, during which the two authorities sought to develop the skills of dealing with tourists in the Kingdom’s airports.  The targeted employees were from the operation department, immigration, customs, security personnel, ground service personnel and taxicabs working at the airports.  The number of attendees in the training program held at 13 airports around the Kingdom have reached 5770 trainees.
 
Eng. Adulaziz Al Dahmash, Director General Quality and Customer Protection Department, stressed the importance of the recently concluded training programs at the Kingdom’s airports in developing the skills needed in dealing with tourists and was mainly aimed at the government and private sectors working at the airports.  The main goal was to develop their skills and train them on how to deal with tourist in a professional manner.  He noted the keenness of the General Directorate of Quality and Protection of Customers Department in improving the service provided to the passengers and that is achieve by developing the skills of airport workers and by improving their efficiency in providing the best services.
 
Al Dahmash also thanked the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage for its outstanding work and effort to ensure the success of the training courses conducted for the employees in the government and private sectors operating in the Kingdom’s airports.  He pointed out to the concerted efforts between the two sides that has contributed directly to this remarkable success.
 
It should be noted that the training programs in developing the skills of dealing with tourists included each of (King Khalid International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport, King Fahad International Airport, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Airport,  Taif International Airport, Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Airport, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Airport, Al Jouf Airport, Abha Airport and Jazan Airport), comes within the framework of the integration agreement between GACA and the General Authority of Tourism and National Heritage.  It aims to implement several joint programs between the two sides.
