Al-Tamimi: Leadership Positions for Saudi Women in Civil Aviation

In a meeting with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) staff with the presence of assistances to the president and general managers, the President of GACA praised Saudi women who are working in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom, saying that women can work as assistants to the president in the authority soon and shall assume leadership positions. He pointed out that GACA is one among those entities who empowered women to work in the aviation sector. Saudi women proved their high competence and abilities to succeed and have an effective role in licensing procedures to aviation companies and its employees. He assured that women can do a lot of men’s work in the civil aviation sector, as he is a father of 6 daughters he is keen that women get the chance to have an effective role in the service and development of the country.
The President of GACA emphasized his confident on the authority members and his concern to qualify them to do their job properly and get leadership positions in the authority. His Excellency stressed the importance of training the authority employees according to the highest international standards, as he is considering this as an important priority to work on it and improve it.
Al-Tamimi also discussed GACA's plan to separate the legislative side from the operational sides. GACA will be civil aviation legislator only, while the operational side will be independent. He also added that authority is keen on achieving the goals of national transformation program 2020 and the Kingdom’s vision 2030; he referred to the importance of the civil aviation sector and its role in the national economy.
Al-Tamimi indicated the authority’s concern to have the best work and performance environment, saying that the purpose of these meetings is to listen to the employee’s opinions as he is stressing on the importance of communication between leaders and employees. Calling authority staff to contact him in case of any problem or complaint. He also urged them to work hard to achieve GACA goals to meet the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
