​Al-Tamimi stresses the Kingdom's role in combating terrorism and drying its sources of funding

The president of GACA Mr. Abdul-Hakeem bin Muhammad Al-Tamimi delivered a speech at the end of the regional ministerial conference on Civil Aviation Security in Africa and the Middle East hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt under theme "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to stand with all its capabilities in order to eliminate the terrorism, and he appointed out that the kingdom spared no effort in order to enhance all that would enhance the security  of international civil aviation and its efforts fighting terrorism.
 
Al-Tamimi added that ' the first pioneers in civil aviation when they provided the international civil aviation agreement for the world which is known as Chicago agreement 1944 in order to make develop and safe civil aviation, and the kingdom respects this agreement and the international civil organization (ICAO) which is work through contracting states and general and secretariat to develop the standers that contribute countries for fighting terrorism against civil aviation.
 
His excellency stressed that the ministerial statement of Sharam  Alshaikh is supplement for the Windhoek , Dubai and Riyadh ministerial statements that related to the security and facilities of regional and global civil aviation , and that all through the global aviation security plan GASEP , which is a renewed program conducted by the AVSEC commission to renew the procedures immediately under ICAO . 
 
The regional Ministerial to adopt the aviation security roadmap for the African and Middle East states, in line with the GASEP taking in consecration various aviation security announcements including the Riyadh announcement adopted on 31 August 2016. The conference also adopted the procedures, tasks, responsibilities and the results for aviation security within six priorities, such as improving risk education and evaluate it and establishing security culture, improving resources and innovations technology, improve control systems and quality assurance , also increase the regional cooperation , these priorities are inspired by the global plan for aviation security GASEP.
 
He stressed that the main goal of the aviation security roadmap for the Africa and Middle East countries is to support and encourage states in the Middle East and Africa to cooperate, work and implement for agreed procedures and tasks to achieve the global aviation security plan, which contribute in civil aviation to achieve sustainable level of security and help to reduce the human, economic and financial losses , and the strengthening of aviation network in the preparation of an environment to improve economic Africa and middle east countries.
 
The roadmap also urged for support for the ICAO initiative (no country left behind) ad providing support in implementing the roadmap as appropriate to other States that need it.
Saudi Arabia provided and technical support to the ICAO which is an program to assist states not ready to implement the international rules specialist in civil aviation security, which reflect the kingdom's keens to ensure the safety of the aviation industries and its role in achieve the interaction and cooperation between countries of the world and its civilizational institutions in the field of civil aviation.
 
The regional ministerial conference on civil aviation security in Africa and the Middle East was held in Sharm El-Sheikh from 22 to 24 August 2008. The meeting was attended by a number of ministers of transport and aviation in Africa and middle east and aviation authorities, and the president of the international civil aviation organization (ICAO) and Dr.Benard Ellio , in addition to the big number of representatives of international civil aviation security field.
