GACA holds a Civil Aviation Sector Strategy Workshop

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held a specialized workshop today to review and discuss the vision and objectives of the Saudi Civil Aviation Sector.  A vison that would be achieved through building a “Strategy for the Civil Aviation Sector in the Kingdom” which will go hand in hand with the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
A group of GACA’s executives attended the workshop, as well as representatives from sectors concerned with the strategy.
 
The workshop reviewed the capabilities of the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the main elements in which the strategy was built on.  A strategy that was adopted to develop the air transport industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
This comes amidst internal and external factors that the Kingdom enjoys, most notably, is its geographical location. The civil aviation sector in the Kingdom has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years.  Among the most important factor are the existence of the two Holy Mosques, as well as the importance of a comprehensive strategy for the aviation sector driven by the sector roadmap. The strategy will serve to meet the aspirations and objectives of increasing airport capacity to receive Umrah visitors from 8 million to 30 million annually, with the main focus on the goal of the Kingdom being a logistic hub linking the three continents and contributing to the creation of a diversified and prosperous economy.
