counterpart * The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan, and HE Abdul Hakim bin Mohammed Al Tamimi, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, met today with Engineer Hussein Mohammad Kazem,At the headquarters of the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Riyadh and in the presence of the Ambassador of Iraq in the Kingdom d. Rushdi Al-Ani, and the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Iraq Abdulaziz Al-Shammari.
 
The two sides discussed air transport services and the mechanism of cooperation between the two countries The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries was signed by the Saudi side HE Mr. Abdul Hakim bin Mohammed Al Tamimi, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, On the Iraqi side, Engineer Hussein Mohammed Kazem, head of the Iraqi civil aviation authority On the Iraqi side, Engineer Hussein Mohammed Kazem, head of the Iraqi civil aviation authority.
 
His Excellency Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Tamimi said That this meeting discussed the mechanism to strengthen the movement of transport between the two countries, Stressing that the General Authority for Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia is always seeking to develop frameworks of cooperation in the field of air transport between it and other countries to conclude new bilateral agreements, To cope with the rapid developments in the air transport industry in accordance with the directives aimed at achieving further growth and development of this vital stream in the Kingdom. He added “The draft convention includes a number of provisions and regulatory texts that guarantee the right of the parties to the rights granted and pluralism of appointment and items related to air safety and aviation security and the road schedule of agreed rights, and other items.
 
For his part Eng. Hussein Mohamed Kazem, Head of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Republic of Iraq, Expressed his happiness at this meeting   
He also noted the great development witnessed by relations between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Iraq, 
Stressing the keenness of the governments of the two countries to enhance opportunities to help achieve more support for growth in economic and trade relations between the two brotherly countries, He expressed the hope that this agreement will provide opportunities for air carriers on direct flights between the two countries.
