An agreement between Saudi Air Navigation Services and Thales International to provide a maintenance management system

The Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS) and the French company Thales concluded a commercial cooperation agreement today, Tuesday the 8th of March, 2022 for the maintenance management system developed by SANS and recently achieved the Excellence and Innovation Award at the Middle East level. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the World Defense Show, a global event organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) for the span of four days from 6 to 9 March in the capital city of Riyadh.
 
The agreement was signed by Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS) CEO, Eng. Abdulaziz bin Salem Alzaid, and by Thales, Executive Vice President for Ground and Air Systems Sector, Mr. Solomon Christophe.
 
The agreement aims for the two parties to cooperate to market the maintenance management system, as “SANS” specializes in developing the system technically in line with the requirements of the targeted parties according to the highest operational standards within the safety framework. In the meantime "Thales" undertakes to meet the requirements of the system in terms of commercial and marketing in a competitive manner that ensures continuity and expansion in the future.
 
This initiative comes within the framework of the strategic direction to contribute to enhancing the vision's objectives in localizing technologies and industries and raising local content. The next step for signing the agreement is to ensure the operational and commercial readiness of the system with an integrated marketing plan to introduce the system, while the agreement falls within the framework of the strategy of the commercial services of SANS and the contribution to the development of air navigation systems.
 
The CEO of SANS, Eng. Abdulaziz Alzaid, indicated that the agreement would achieve the desired development in the field of maintenance management. This achieved by taking advantage of advanced technology in this field through the maintenance management system.
 
Alzaid also expressed his confidence that the system will make a qualitative leap in air navigation services, through partnership with the French company “Thales", which was selected among several international companies, due to its expertise and advanced marketing plans, which will positively affect the air transport sector in the Kingdom. He thanked the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, for his support of the various projects of SANS, stressing that the company’s employees have made very great efforts to develop the unique maintenance management system.
