GACA holds an introductory workshop on the "Tawteen 2" program, targeting establishments in the aviation transportation sector.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation held an introductory workshop for the second version of the "Tawteen 2" program yesterday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Riyadh, in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The workshop aimed to familiarize participants with the second version of the localization program and the financial incentives provided to encourage organizations to benefit from the program. The workshop was attended by the Acting President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Deputy Executive President for Safety and Aviation Standards, Suleiman bin Saleh Al-Muhaimidi, as well as supervisory authorities and representatives from entities in the aviation sector.

During his speech at the workshop, the Deputy Executive President for Safety and Aviation Standards highlighted that the General Authority of Civil Aviation, through its strategic targets for the aviation sector, is working on enhancing and supporting Saudi youth in the sector, expanding their employment options, and increasing their participation by supporting and facilitating their recruitment in various fields. This aligns with the wise leadership's vision to develop and enhance the aviation industry, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

With the support and guidance of His Excellency, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, a department has been established to enable and localize jobs in the aviation sector. This department is responsible for overseeing and continuously monitoring the increase in employment rates and implementing localization programs in accordance with the strategic targets of the aviation sector. These targets aim to double the capacity to accommodate 330 million passengers annually and reach 250 destinations worldwide. Additionally, the cargo capacity is expected to increase to 4.5 million tons by 2030. Captain Al-Muhaimidi emphasized the importance of continuity and collaboration in job localization, as well as encouraging initiatives and programs that focus on Saudi cadres. He highlighted the need to make localization a fundamental aspect of organizational operations, defining a clear and specific path to enhance their participation in the sector in the coming years. Furthermore, efforts will be made to address all challenges that hinder their employment in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development by providing necessary support and facilitation.

Director of Empowerment and Localization at the Authority, Dr. Mashael Al-Qahtani, emphasized the importance of utilizing the "Localization 2" programs and the incentives provided to establishments, as well as the necessity of cooperation from aviation sector establishments in localizing specialized professions. The transportation sector is one of the targeted sectors for localization, and the administration is working on supervising and monitoring employment plans, increasing the localization rates of professions in the aviation sector in line with the aviation sector's strategy.

Following that, the workshop covered several topics, including an introduction to the program, the support incentives provided to establishments, the registration process for joining the program, and utilizing incentives to support and enhance the transportation and logistics services sector. It also aims to enable the private sector to attract citizens, develop their skills, and ensure their sustainability. This will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the sector and supporting it by providing national cadres to achieve the goals of the national strategy for the aviation sector.
