GACA reviews (Eyab) initiative in its first year

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) reviewed the first trial version of Eyab initiative for the current Hajj season (1440) in Jeddah today. A specialized workshop was held aimed at discussing what was done during the initiative, the challenges that faced the work and come up with recommendations that support the continuation of the initiative in the future.

The workshop dealt with topics such as the role of the electronic platform for the advance transport of luggage through authorized agencies, in addition to the reception of luggage by ground services and linking the information provided to the pilgrim.

The workshop highlighted the facilitation of security measures for the beneficiaries of the initiative, such as the importance of obtaining passenger information in advance.  Furthermore, it went through the departures checkout procedures through (Banan) application.  The participants also discussed the importance of enriching the experience of passengers benefiting from the (Eyab) initiative, through the provision of a unique environment that gives a distinctive impression and reflects the culture and civilization Saudi Arabia.

The workshop was held in the presence of the Assistant to the President for Aviation Security, Mr. Mohammed Al Fawzan and a number of GACA officials.  In addition to the presence of the Emirate of Makkah, and The Emirate of Madinah, the Ministry of Hajj, the Presidency of State Security, the National Information Center, the General Directorate of Passports, the General Authority of Customs and the Technology Control Company.  The workshop was held at the Jeddah branch of the General Authority of Civil Aviation.

It is worth noting that the (Eyab) initiative aims to improve the services provided to the pilgrims throughout the Kingdom's airports, and improve the experience of travelers.  Furthermore, facilitate the check-in procedures and reduce the waiting time at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, and Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz International Airport in Madinah.

The initiative achieved a great success during this Hajj season (1440) and contributed to the services provided to the pilgrims departing to their home countries in each of (Indonesia, India, and Malaysia).  The initiative served more than 30 thousand pilgrims, who departed the Kingdom through more than (73) flights.   The duration for the completion of bag procedures for pilgrim was no more than  (20) seconds, while, the number of luggage registered through the (Eyab) platform reached more than (35) thousand pieces received 24 hours before their departing flights.
