General Authority of Civil Aviation Concludes Participation in the eighth African Supervisory Committee Conference.
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - August 26, 2022 - The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) successfully concluded its participation in the eighth African Supervisory Committee Conference held in Nairobi, Kenya from August 21st to 25th.
Representing GACA at the conference was Dr. Badr bin Saleh Al-Suqairi, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In his address, Dr. Al-Suqairi emphasized the importance of the civil aviation sector in enhancing international communication, supporting trade and tourism, and providing employment opportunities.
He highlighted that air transport plays a significant role in economic progress and development, as well as fostering understanding and cooperation among nations.
Dr. Al-Suqairi also discussed the National Aviation Strategy and its contribution to achieving the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. The strategy aims to elevate and develop the sector to achieve outstanding results and accomplishments locally, regionally, and internationally. It aims to become a vital contributor to economic development. He further mentioned that the sector's strategy aims to double capacity and reach 330 million passengers annually, with connections to 250 destinations worldwide.
GACA's participation in this conference reflects its commitment to promoting international cooperation and sharing best practices in civil aviation.
