GACA obliges air carriers to pay compensation to passengers, amounting to more than 65 million riyals

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) obligated air carriers operating in the Kingdom to pay compensation to its passengers in excess of 65 million Saudi Riyals. This after coming to the conclusion that the air carriers have violated the terms and obligations of the air transport contracts signed with their clients.
 
This action comes as an implementation of the provisions of the regulations on protecting the rights of customers and in line with GACA’s approach of upgrading the level of services provided to travelers, and improve their experience in accordance with the highest international standards. This is an effort to provide a distinct experiences and emphasize to the air carriers the importance of putting the traveler needs in mind by honoring their contractual commitments. All within the scope of services, as stipulated in the laws and regulations.
 
The cases of " baggage loss, damage, or delay" came in first in terms of compensation, followed by "flight delays" and lastly, "cancellation of flights". These  compensations included all air carriers operating in the Kingdom.
 
GACA calls upon the general public to view the Executive Regulations protecting the rights of customers on its website (www.gaca.gov.sa). Passengers who wish to file complaints against any air carrier can also contact the call center on the following number (800-119-8888) which operates around the clock
