The Kingdom participates in Aviation Security Week at ICAO Canada

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, participated today with a delegation headed by the Executive Vice President of Aviation Security, Mohammed bin Saad Al-Fawzan, in the ICAO Aviation Security Week 2023, which is held at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal, Canada.
The Kingdom's participation aims to exchange expertise and experiences in the field of civil aviation security and cybersecurity, and to develop skills and tools to enhance the sound foundations of a prosperous aviation industry in safe environments.
The work of Aviation Security Week began with an opening session in which the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to ICAO and Chairman of the Aviation Security Committee, Dr. Badr bin Saleh Al-Saqri, participated as a keynote speaker in the opening session, where he expressed in his speech the importance of holding such a week, which enjoys a prominent presence of leaders and global experts in the field of aviation security, gathering together to discuss how to best promote a strong, safe and resilient aviation system.
He commented saying: We seek international cooperation in order to protect the global air transport network from advanced threats; pointing to the expected and hoped-for results that focus on addressing urgent challenges and laying the foundation for a prosperous and safe aviation industry in the coming years.
Dr. Al-Saqri drew attention to the Kingdom’s continued support for ICAO programs and initiatives, including providing financial and human support to the Cooperative Aviation Security Program in the Middle East (CASP-MID), under the keen leadership of His Excellency the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Secretary-General of International Civil Aviation Security, to contribute in enhancing the performance of member states in the field of aviation security, and paving the way towards safer skies.
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom participated with a delegation that included several parties, including the Royal Saudi Air Force, the Presidency of State Security, the National Cyber Security Authority, the Second Airports Group, the Riyadh Airports Company, the Dammam Airports Company, the Jeddah Airports Company, the Taiba Company, Saudi Airlines, and Flyadeal.
