GACA participates in a gathering of aviation security experts

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) participated in the 30th meeting of aviation security experts held from the 13 to the 18 of May 2019 at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

 

The assistant to GACA’s president for Aviation Security, Mr. Mohammed Al Fawzan, represented GACA’s delegation.  The meeting is held annually and it include aviation security experts in the ICAO member states and with the participation of number countries and other entities.

 

The kingdom of Saudi Arabia is actively and effectively involved in such meeting in an effort to establish rules, recommendations and guidance materials to ensure that civil aviation is protected from all acts of unlawful interference.

 

In this context, Saudi Arabia is making efforts to develop the field of civil aviation and enhance the principal of joint cooperation and expertise exchange, in order to upgrade the efficiency of the aviation security infrastructure.  Furthermore, to implement security procedures in accordance with the highest international standards in all airports, and to qualify the Saudi nationals in the field of aviation security.

 

It is worth noting, that a number of working papers were presented at the meeting, which were supported by the Kingdom and are in the interest of aviation security.  The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has participated in presenting a number of working papers with other friendly States.
