GACA organizes a regional workshop on international aviation security auditing

The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and in cooperation with the Cooperative Program for Aviation Security in the Middle East, which is chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and affiliated with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), organized a regional workshop entitled (International Aviation Security Auditing - Continuous Monitoring Approach).

 

The workshop, which was held during the period from (the 19th to 21st of July) at the the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) branch office in Jeddah. In attendance were (20) trainees from the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and the security entities operating at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. This in addition to the attendance of 13 Aviation security personnel trainees in each the Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Libya, and the Republic of Iraq, through the technique of remote communication.

 

The workshop, presented by certified trainers from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aimed to shed light on the objectives of the international audit program, understanding the methodology and mechanism of an audit, review and analyze the main standard rules in Annex XVII - Aviation Security. This in addition to to understanding the role and responsibilities of the state and the organization. Furthermore, understanding the mechanism for developing a corrective action plan after the audit has ended.
