Based on what was previously announced by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) about linking the issuance of the boarding pass to the health status in the “Tawakkalna” application for domestic flights; the electronic linking process for all national airlines has been completed, so that the boarding pass is issued electronically only to passengers whose status in the application (immunized / vaccinated first dose / vaccinated recovering / not proven to be infected).

The measure is one of the initiatives supported by GACA to take advantage of the technical capabilities owned by the Kingdom to improve the passenger experience, by linking the Tawakkalna system with the passenger security systems and the systems of national airlines to provide the necessary flexibility to create an easy, healthy and safe travel journey at airports and planes. Moreover, to raise the efficiency of economic and operational movement. This in addition to the application of the precautionary and preventive measures recommended by the relevant committees.

The initiative reflects the fruits of joint cooperation with success partners from various government agencies, namely the Presidency of State Security, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, the Ministry of Health, and constructive cooperation from national airlines and ELM Company, in completing the initiative within a short period to complete the required technical development and link systems between agencies to ensure its success.
