The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques provides financial support to the ICAO

In continuation with the Kingdom's efforts in supporting international organizations, and the keenness of the wise leadership to have an effective an important role in the most important international and regional organizations.

 

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has provided financial support to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the (No Country Left Behind) initiative.  The initiative aims is to assist developing countries in the application of recommended standards and recommended methods for the safety and security of civil aviation, as well as contribute to the costs required for the translation of the Organization documents and outputs into Arabic.

 

 The President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA), Mr. Abdulhadi Al Mansouri, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for his unlimited support to the aviation sector locally, regionally and globally. This contributes to the development of the aviation industry in the world, therefore, improve the safety and security of civil aviation in developing countries and less developed countries and island States.

 

 He stated: This support is a renewal of the Kingdom's previous support to ICAO in 2016 and has achieved significant positive results that have contributed to the enhancement of the safety and security of civil aviation in the Middle East and Africa, as well as efforts to develop human resources operating in the civil aviation sector.

 

 It is worth noting that the President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for renewing his support for the second time, confirming that this support given by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an extension of its continued support to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

  

he stated: I would like to assert the ICAO's gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for helping us establish a solid base and support for initiatives that will help developing countries, less developed countries and island nations in aviation safety and civil aviation security,"

 

It is worth noting, that the program which was renewed by Saudi Arabia for the second time with US $ 1 million donation, is the "No Country Left Behind" initiative.  The initiative was presented by the ICAO to assist States not in a position to implement the standards and recommended methods for civil aviation safety and security, as well as contributing to the costs of translating ICAO documents and outputs for Arabic language.

  

It is worth noting; that the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) aims is to develop the technical principles and rules on international air navigation, support the planning and development of international air transport.  All in an effort to ensure the sound and orderly development of international civil aviation, and promote the progress of air routes, airports and air navigation facilities for international civil aviation, as ICAO is a global international governmental organization founded under the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation affiliated with the United Nations.
