Objectives:
The core objective of this department is to develop and promote policies and guidance on major regulatory issues linked to the economic regulation of airlines, airports, ANS and other aviation commercial services. Most importantly, this Department undertakes and coordinates very closely with other (Departments) of the GACA which are responsible for taking a lead in presenting and promoting the Aviation policies.

- To issue economic License pertaining to airlines, Ground Handlers & other activities related to aviation
- To enforce the economic regulations provisions relating to the airlines, airports, ANS, Ground Handling, MRO, FBO & other aviation activities
- To inspect Airline & other aviation activities
- To feed aviation regulation department with recommendations to amend or create new provisions to incorporate in the air transport regulations
- Develop & implement procedures for core functions of the department
- To upkeep the Aviation Intelligence (Aviation Statistical Database), Performance & Standards related to air transport performance & efficiency
- To prepare Economic Analysis of Air Traffic Trend and Development
- To prepare Economic Studies & Market Research to explore Route Development Analysis in supporting Air Trade agreement with various countries, to add value in the country’s National income (GDP)
- To Develop the Kingdom’s Air Traffic Projection in backing towards capacity planning & resource utilization
- To give advice & suggest on competition issues pertaining to air transport
- To regulate the air fare, airport & ANS tariffs and Commercial Aviation services
- To oversee the airport capacity planning through Capital Investment Programs
- To support in preparing guidelines for privatization of airports and airlines
- To prepare a ‘Route Dispersal Guidelines’ (PSO) for the efficient operation of air transport in the Kingdom
- To prepare Slot Guideline Manual for efficient utilization of slots at the Kingdom’s Airport
- To audit economic related clearance (Financial, Insurance, Service Level Agreement) in providing the license for aviation commercial uses
- To support and advise for developing National Aviation Policy & Strategic planning of air transport
- To actively participate in events and seminars in order to strengthen KSA’s position in the field of civil aviation regionally and internationally.

007 Request for Letter of Support for permanent work visa formThis service allows beneficiaries to renew their economic licenses required for the operation of foreign air carriers (which has scheduled commercial flight operations GACAR PART 129), by studying the applications and checking the satisfaction of the economic requirements to ensure their compliance against the licensing terms.
