Air Traffic Management
 
2.1 ATS Units
  • Supervise all ATS units at airports in:
    • Provision of Air Traffic Services at ATS Units
    • The OJT programs and coordinate with ANS HR and Corporate HR for certification, rating validation and training
      requirements
    • Ensuring remedial action from concerned parties related to the performance of ATS operations
    • The strict adherence to all adopted rules and operating procedures
  • Manage the reporting processes to oversee ATS units performance and to ensure compliance with rules and operating
    procedures.
 
 
 
 
2.2 Operations Planning & Control
  • Collect analyze and report air traffic movements in conjunction with units and ensure close coordination over business priorities with ANS Business Planning & Development for optimal planning purposes
  • Prepare reports and analyses on the operating and safety performance of ATS units to maintain focus on meeting quality and safety guidelines
  • Provide all relevant information to ensure safety at airports with no air traffic control
  • Manage ANS relations and ensure close coordination with air navigation service providers, other ATS units, commercial air
    operators, general aviation operators and the military for optimal airspace and air traffic movement planning and management
  • Coordinate with the armed forces and inform relevant parties about restricted areas (ATS Operations units at airports, AIS, air operators, other ANSPs, etc.)
  • Ensure the ATS procedural manuals are developed and regularly updated to maintain full compliance with the latest GACA and
    ICAO regulatory requirements as well as implementing operational and safety-related improvements:
    • Establish and maintain records of all manuals and LOAs to ensure they are distributed to the relevant parties
    • Liaise closely with Safety Management and with Safety & Economic Regulations to ensure compliance with safety
      guidelines and to secure their approval on new procedures and updated versions of the manual
2.3 Airspace Management
  • Design plan and manage the Saudi airspace (ACC APP TWR SIDS STARS Holdings and Airways) in order to optimize capacity utilization, achieve higher efficiencies and comply strictly with safety guidelines:
    • Design the airspace and plan the sectoring of ACCs, approaches and towers and implement with concerned
      parties
    • Plan for new routes and for air traffic optimization to achieve higher efficiency and safety compliance
    • Ensure strict compliance with international standards, regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Ensure close coordination with ATS units and Operations Planning & Control
  • Ensure close coordination and collaboration with various customers and stakeholders (adjacent FIRs, air operators,
    general aviation, military, etc.)
 
 
2.4 Search & Rescue
  • Manage Search & Rescue within area of responsibility
  • Communicate and coordinate with concerned parties in accordance with approved procedures
  • Liaise agreements with other SARs regarding search & rescue alerts and activities
  • Coordinate with Automation and Maintenance Engineering any technical problem in the Search & Rescue System
  • Liaise LOAs with other SARs Authorities and Centers to ensure proper SAR notification and operation
2.5 Aeronautical Telecomm
  • Manage Aeronautical Telecommunication within area of responsibility
  • Provide Aeronautical Telecommunication Services at communication centers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with concerned parties in accordance with approved procedures
  • Coordinate with Automation and Maintenance Engineering any technical problem in the Telecommunication Systems
  • Liaise LOAs with other Communication Authorities and Centers to ensure proper notification and operation
