The total Number of Umrah pilgrims through King Abdul-Aziz International Airport reaches 2.859 million through December

The number of arriving Umrah pilgrims who arrived in the Kingdom through Jeddah King Abdul-Aziz International Airport (KAIA) have reached 1.7 million, while nearly 1.159 million departed the Kingdom.  That brings the total numbers of arriving and departing Umrah pilgrim passengers to 2,000,859, since the start of Umrah season in the middle of December.
Mr. Turki Altheeb, Manager of Public Relations & Media at KAIA stated that the Umrah passengers have arrived on 13046 flights, stressing that over 7000 employees has been assigned from the public and private sectors to serve them.  Stating that the staff are performing an exemplary services around the clock to serve those special guests.
Altheeb, revealed that this same period saw the departure of 1.159 million Umrah Pilgrims to their respective countries in 6542 flights. They have left in a smoothly coordinated operation through the airport terminals dedicated to serve them.
A statistical report issued by KAIA revealed the arrival of 18036 Umrah pilgrims on 137 flights on Monday evening, while 14004 departed on the same day, on board 72 different international flights. 
It’s worth mentioning that the Haj and Umrah terminal complex at KAIA has 14 arrival and departure lounges totally dedicated to serve both the pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims.  The complex has 26 airplane parking areas, 10 moving bridges, two operation centers, a control tower, 18 travel gate, 14 travel lounges for pilgrims, 143 immigration counters, 120 counters for Ministry of Haj commissions, 224 counters for United agent offices and 254 for travel counters.
The length of the luggage conveyor belt is 1.180 meters, which also features a first class and VIP lounges, a 123 rooms Hotel, also included is a food court and a commercial area measuring 9.418 SQM in total.  There are 20 waiting area at the Haj Plaza, as well as 40 praying area, in addition to 32 bathroom facilities.
